Fresh from a very encouraging week at the Vauxhall International North West 200, Baz Furber of Team Greenhous, is now setting his sights on furthering his already rapid climb in the road racing hierarchy.

    On Saturday, 3rd June Nick Bill, who is a service technician at Greenhous Renault in Telford, will embark on a 9 day cycle ride from John O’Groats in Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall. This mammoth ride is being undertaken by Nick and his friends in the Big Red Bus Velo Club in aid of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and their STAR Appeal in particular.

    Supporting our local communities is a priority for Greenhous, the large independent automotive dealer based in Shropshire. However, sometimes that wish to support those less fortunate than ourselves stretches to overseas aid. In a link with the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s charity, Operation Sabre, Greenhous provided a donation which was used to purchase some rescue equipment that is used to extract people from vehicles involved in road traffic accidents.

    Greenhous Vauxhall Master Technician Barry ‘Baz’ Furber is raring to go in the prestigious Vauxhall International North West 200 race meeting this week. From Tuesday 9th May to Thursday 11th there is practice with racing on Thursday and Saturday 13th May. With 100 riders travelling at speeds of up to 209 mph entertaining an estimated 100,000 spectators over the period of the festival, it is certainly going to be an exciting time for Barry.

    In what has become a traditional football fixture between the staff of Greenhous and Salop Leisure, the beneficiaries were the pupils of Severndale School as monies were raised through a raffle and small entrance fee for the supporters. In the region of £500 is expected to be raised to go towards specialised playground equipment through the Friends of Severndale.
