Cake sale at Greenhous Volvo to support kennels.
Dog lovers at Greenhous Volvo have been doing their bit to raise funds for the charity, Hilbrae Rescue Kennels at Cold Hatton, Telford. They take in stray and unwanted dogs who remain in their care until a new home is found for them.Claire James, senior service advisor, was the instigator to raise money for Hilbrae Kennels. They have a wish list there for coats blankets etc and Claire decided to help.

After mentioning her interest in helping the kennels, who receive no direct public funding for their work, her colleagues joined in the fund-raising. Claire baked cakes all week along with Sue Bourne, Steve Jones and Jackie Tooze.  Steve and Julie Barnett donated new dog coats for Hilbrae Kennels.  Julie also raised £30 by having a Phoenix Cards box in the office and having parties too.

Claire says: “I am delighted that my colleagues decided to help me support this worthy cause.  We’ve got a lot of dog lovers here and everyone has been very generous!! We’ve raised £170.00 which will be very helpful to the Hilbrae Rescue Kennels. I always drop them a big bag of dog food at Christmas but I wanted to try and do more to help, they do a wonderful job there.”
