The Shropshire and West Midlands based Motor Group are currently sponsors of Shrewsbury Town Football Club and have played a part in community football at a grassroots level for a number of years. The latest donation comes after a family with two children at the school attended a Shrewsbury Town match at the Greenhous Meadow. Contact was made following the visit and the company agreed to help support the team with much needed supplies.
Jo Jones, Spokesperson for Greenhous, said “We were contacted by parents following their visit to a Shrewsbury Town match. They explained how both of their children played in different teams at the school and were in dire need of some basic equipment that would help with developing their football skills.
“Football is something Greenhous has had a lot of involvement in over the years and providing support at a grassroots level is incredibly important. Not only to ensure the progression and development of sports skills in young people, but also to contribute to their personal development, behaviour and social interaction."
Jo continued “We are supplying the teams of Newtown Primary School with bibs, footballs, cones and pumps. Although it is a small contribution, it’s this type of basic equipment that many teams are missing which can make all the difference to their development and training. “We truly believe that football is for all children of all abilities and we hope that the equipment we have supplied will go some way in helping both the younger and older players enjoy being part of a team whilst at Newtown Primary School."
