Greenhous edged out by Salop Leisure in a football thriller.
In what has become a traditional football fixture between the staff of Greenhous and Salop Leisure, the beneficiaries were the pupils of Severndale School as monies were raised through a raffle and small entrance fee for the supporters. In the region of £500 is expected to be raised to go towards specialised playground equipment through the Friends of Severndale.

A good sized, enthusiastic crowd at the Greenhous Meadow, home of Shrewsbury Town FC, witnessed a full blooded, very competitive encounter which saw Salop Leisure take an early lead. In a dominant first half performance the Greenhous team had a goal controversially denied them for off-side and then tested the Salop Leisure keeper on several occasions before Christian Oldham scored a fine equaliser just before half time.

The start of the second half could not have been brighter for Greenhous with a quick goal by Ben Howells establishing a lead for the first time.  However, this just spurred the opposition on and they started to dominate possession themselves and scored two quick goals with top quality strikes from outside of the box.  Despite pressing for an equaliser the Greenhous team could not break through and a final goal led to a 4-2 win for Salop Leisure who remain unbeaten in this fixture.

Well played all of the Greenhous and Salop Leisure teams and thank you to all who supported them.
