If you have a caravan you will need a vehicle to tow it. Two of the leading companies in Shropshire have joined forces to provide a service to the caravanning community. Salop Leisure are the premier caravan holiday home, touring caravan and motorhome dealers in the Midlands and Mid Wales.
They operate from the impressive state of the art, caravan showroom and service centre at Emstrey, just outside Shrewsbury on the A5. The Greenhous Group is one of the Sunday Times’ top 100 privately owned businesses and consistently ranked in the Motor Trade and Automotive Management Top 20 Dealers. Greenhous sell a range of brands at their dealerships in Shrewsbury and Telford.
Throughout 2015 Greenhous dealerships are providing a towing vehicle for Salop Leisure to use to transport customers caravans to and from the Emstrey base, for delivery, storage or servicing. The partnership has started with the Greenhous Vauxhall franchises providing an Antara for towing purposes, an Astra on display within the caravan sales area and a new Vauxhall Corsa is on display outside the Salop Leisure reception entrance. Throughout the year other Greenhous franchises will take their turn at providing a towing vehicle and a display model. Nissan will include the Qashqai which was the Tow Car of The Year 2014.
They will be followed by Renault, Toyota, Volvo and Volkswagen. Scott Higgins, sales and marketing manager for Salop Leisure, says: “We are delighted to have teamed up with the Greenhous Group to work on a number of joint marketing initiatives. Like Salop Leisure, Greenhous are a local firm who place a real emphasis on customer service, this partnership will allow both companies to promote their product offerings to a wide customer audience. We are looking forward to displaying the many different brands Greenhous offer to our customers so they can see the latest tow vehicles on offer.
” At Greenhous Richard Potts, franchise director for Vauxhall, was equally upbeat about the partnership. “I am really pleased that our Vauxhall models are the first vehicles to be used and displayed by Salop Leisure as part of this partnership with Greenhous. The Antara is suitably liveried with both of our logos and the new Corsa and Astra look splendid in their display positions. The link between the two businesses is a natural fit, caravans need vehicles to tow them!”
The partnership should lead to other opportunities including a proposal to offer a training package for learning to tow vehicles including trailers and caravans. There is a legal requirement for anyone who gained their full licence after 1st January 1997 to qualify to be able tow trailers etc over a certain weight. With their sponsorship of the Greenhous West Mid Showground, Greenhous have access to an ideal off-street location for practice and building towing confidence.
