The most spectacular event of the day is likely to be the appearance of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, providing a spectacular fly past by the iconic Spitfire and Hurricane aeroplanes. This of course will be a timely reminder that 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the end of World War ll. Headlining the Main Arena events will be the Steve Colley Motorbike Stunt display team.
The energetic Young Farmers will be doing Safari Jeep Racing and parading their fantastic decorated themed floats for which a record number of entries have been received. Also in the Main Arena will be the Balfours Inter Hunt Relay with a twist, where quad bikes and terriers all join in the hilarious fun packed competition between two local hunts. For the horse lovers there will be a full schedule of classes for horses and ponies in the County Horse Show, which has now returned to main County Show. This will include the fabulous Shire Horse Class.
The Dog Show will include novelty, child handler, happiest, rescue veteran and best 6 legs competitions! Dog classes, and of course various pedigree classes, all combine to make it a fantastic introduction to Showing at the Greenhous West Mid Showground. The County Show organisers are also delighted to announce that the Whitchurch Dog Display Team will be performing in the canine arena with fire walks and other demonstrations of fantastic skills. Cuerden Birds of Prey displays will be run by experienced and professional falconers with a passion for the birds that will thrill the audience. Another popular event is the Grande Parade, a spectacular show of everything that is the best of Shropshire and further afield, showing the prize-winning livestock from across the Show.
Outside the Main arena there will be the power of the Tractor Pulling. Highly acclaimed as the “World’s Greatest Motor Sport”, tractors of all shapes and sizes that have been greatly modified, pit their wits against the huge sledge they have to pull down our specially made dragster track. For the first year sponsors of the showground, Greenhous will be featuring vehicles from across their extensive range of brands with Volvo, Toyota, Nissan, Renault, Dacia, Ford and Vauxhall cars on display.
On the commercial side Volkswagen and Vauxhall will be present as will the truck franchise DAF.
