Vauxhall unveil three new models at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show

The launch of three new models is music to the ears of the sales teams at Greenhous Vauxhall in Shrewsbury and Telford. The arrival of the new Insignia Grand Sport, Insignia Sports Tourer and Crossland X has been eagerly awaited. On Tuesday 7th March at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Vauxhall/Opel press conference revealed the new vehicles and announced two new OnStar services for the new Exclusive programme.

Following on from the previous Insignia generation which sold over 25,000 in the UK last year and won the 2009 European Car of the Year, the new Insignia boasts an all-new architecture which means more space inside, a more athletic appearance and an improved road stance.

The accent is very much on advanced technologies to make driving the Insignia safer, more relaxing and more comfortable. Some examples include next-generation IntelliLux LED matrix lighting, Lane Keep Assist, Head-up Display, the unique AGR-certified premium seats, front- and rear-seat heating, and a heated windscreen.

Outstanding infotainment and connectivity are also on board, thanks to the latest IntelliLink systems and Vauxhall OnStar. And with the launch of the Insignia Grand Sport, OnStar will offer customers even more functionality. New OnStar features allow occupants to book hotel rooms and search for suitable parking spots via an OnStar Advisor.

Vauxhall’s all-new Crossland X made its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. With excellent styling on the outside, it is spacious and flexible on the inside, with a unique two-tone paintwork and SUV-styling. The Crossland X’s recently-launched sibling, Mokka X, has all-wheel-drive capability, is 70mm higher and has larger wheels for adventure. By contrast, Crossland X has a family focus, with a spacious cabin that provides practicality and flexibility.

At just 4.21 metres long, the Crossland X is also more compact than the Mokka X, offering owners greater convenience for city driving. Adding to Crossland X’s urban appeal is an elevated seating position and an overall height that sits ten centimetres above the Astra’s.

Exceptional driver and passenger comfort is an obvious priority for a car in this class. The Crossland X has specially designed AGR-certified seats for the driver and front passenger. And rear passengers can adjust their seating position to increase leg-room.

Other Crossland X innovations make driving safer and more comfortable, include 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera, advanced park assist, forward collision alert with pedestrian detection and autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, speed sign recognition and side blind-spot alert.
