The Greenhous Volvo dealership occupies a prime position on Featherbed Lane in Shrewsbury. General Manager Steve Rowson worked for Greenhous Vauxhall before moving to Volvo. Greenhous acquired the franchise in July 2013. Steve says of the whole team: “We are very fortunate to have a very stable and highly experienced team of people here at Greenhous Volvo. Stability is the key to a successful dealership and as you will read we have a dedicated team here, many of whom started with us as apprentices.
“I am proud to lead a group who all share the same ethos, a passion for Volvo as a brand and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. We are also supported by the financial team and there must be a mention for our valeting team who do a splendid job preparing the vehicles to go back to the customers.”
Heading up the sales team is sales manager Simon Brisbourne. Simon has a wealth of experience in the trade as have the sales team of Carl Crowther, Daren Moore, Neil Hancox and Lee Jones. All have spent many years in the area of vehicle sales either in Volvo or with other brands. Simon commented: “I have been with Greenhous for almost 6 months and find it most enjoyable. The Volvo product is fantastic and Greenhous is a joy to work for, previously I was Sales Manager for JT Hughes Honda in Oswestry where I spent 14 years, and prior to that Hartwell Nissan in Shrewsbury for 12 years.
“We have many years of experience in our sales team, with Carl having been with Volvo for over 8 years, starting when it was W. A. Lewis and Daren has been with Greenhous for over 15 years, spending the past two years at Volvo where he is a Motability specialist.
“Lee has been in the trade for over 20 years, and joined Greenhous for 4 months ago. Both Lee and I have worked for the same dealer group for the past 20 years before joining Greenhous, Lee is also a Motability specialist. Neil has added to team with over 15 years’ experience, he joined Greenhous Volvo 15 months ago. Neil is our Business to Business specialist.”
A first point of contact for customers wishing to book in their Volvo for a service, MOT or other maintenance is the aftersales department where manager Mark Nutting has staff providing service reception, parts and technical assistance in the busy workshop. Mark explains the importance of customer care saying: “Greenhous Volvo insist that our staff constantly strive to improve customer relations, being proactive and sorting any query or issue immediately, building a position of trust with the customer. Customers like to put a face to a name and build a relationship, which I hope will last for many years with us.” Mark has been rewarded for his hard work in receiving the Volvo Customer Champion Award.
Always behind the scenes, but of equal importance are the technicians in the workshop who deal with every aspect of inspection, repair and maintenance of the Volvo vehicles booked in for them via the service department. Mike Davies, Workshop Controller, leads the technician team, he says of his team: “We have a vast level of experience in our service team with collectively over 100 years working for Volvo under our belts! Our master technician, John Kershaw has worked for Volvo over 30 years. I have for 16 years, Simon Onions 18 years, Paul Phillips 20 years, Gaz Brotherton and Joe Humphries have 6 years and Martin Davies 3 years.
“We all came through apprenticeships and maintain our training through Volvo. We are a close knit department in after sales all sharing a passion for the brand and striving to exceed our targets for customer service.”
