A new opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Semi/Fully Skilled Mechanical Engineer/Mechanic at our Bulkrite site in Dorrington, Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, helping to construct some of the highest quality commercial vehicles on the market. In this role you will be involved in the preparation of the chassis for installation of our specialist bodies, including the fitting of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and general mechanical work.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
What you'll be doing:
- Assembly and fitting of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as tipping gear and air rams.
- Installation of side guards, mud wings, sheet systems and other equipment.
- Help in the final assembly of new bodies to vehicles.
- Carry out repairs to existing vehicle systems.
- To work safely and competently observing all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
What we need from you:
- A relatable technical qualification such as City and Guilds.
- Background in a mechanical or engineering role such as vehicle, agricultural machinery or electrical/hydraulic equipment.
- Experience of fabrication would be an advantage.
- Flexible and willing to learn.
- Able to work within a team to achieve a common goal.
- Mechanical experience.
- Clean and safe working practices.
- Good communication skills.
- Friendly and approachable.
- Good timekeeping.
- Full driving licence is essential.
