Operation Sabre is a voluntary charitable project undertaken by serving and retired members of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. The project’s principal aim is to support activities that conserve and regenerate Transylvania’s cultural heritage in Romania.
The Greenhous Group has celebrated the career of a long –serving member of staff. Nigel Williams, the financial controller of the Smart Fleet Solutions arm of the business, has reached retirement after 36 years of service to Greenhous.
Every Tuesday evening a cycling group from Greenhous Telford meets at 6pm. Their main objective is to train towards taking part in an annual sponsored charity ride for The Layla Jane Pitt Remembrance Trust. They raise funds to support Hope House and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in their work to help life limited children and bereaved families. Last year the Trust donated £10,000 towards the provision of a parent and child room at Alder Hey Hospital.

Obviously spurred on by the efforts of the national team in the world Cup, the Greenhous DAF Parts Staff entered a team in a five a side football competition against other DAF franchises around the region. Matches were hotly contested and the Greenhous team were runners up in the competition which was held in Manchester.
A team from the Shrewsbury Greenhous DAF dealership proved to be masters of the River Severn as they won a raft competition sponsored by Morris Lubricants in aid of the Midlands and Wales Air Ambulances Services and other charities at this year’s River Festival weekend. Nine hearty ship mates engaged with 12 other teams on home-made rafts, sailing the course between the Theatre Severn near the Welsh Bridge and the Boat House pub by the Quarry in Shrewsbury.
