Andrew decides to take on the Brighton marathon for charity.

Pounding the streets of Shrewsbury is a pastime that Andrew Burgess takes in his stride as he prepares to step up his efforts in preparation for his first marathon, to be held in Brighton on the 14th April.

Andrew works for Greenhous as a National Fleet Sales Executive and he is taking on the 26+mile event to support the Alzheimer’s Society. “I have wanted to run a marathon for some time now, and I am using this opportunity to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is a charity very close to home for me and my family. I aim to raise in excess of £500.”

Andrew says of his preparation: “I complete training runs 3 / 4 times a week, usually running between 20 – 30 miles a week and will be participating in the Shrewsbury 10K on the 17th March. Brighton will be my first ever marathon and I am looking forward to the challenge. Over 15,000 people participate in the event every year with in excess of 150,000 spectators, so it should be a great atmosphere. My Wife Emma and my children Alex and Thomas along with a host of various other family members are making the long journey to support me.”
