In her role as a Purchase Ledger Administrator for Greenhous, Zoe Baker from Dawley in Telford, spends a lot of her work time behind a computer or driving between sites in Telford and Shrewsbury. So now Zoe has decided to take up the 10,000 steps challenge in support of Cancer Research.
Zoe will be aiming to record at least 10,000 steps (around 5 miles) each day in March and raise funds for the charity. As Zoe says: “I have family members who have been affected by cancer and I wanted to do my bit to support Cancer Research. It could be hard as I am used to being stuck behind my desk, but I have had offers of dogs to be walked and friends to partner me on walks at the weekends. It is also a good reason to get out at lunchtimes in the week.”
Zoe is no stranger to supporting good causes. Some years ago she had all of her hair cut off in support of Children in Need, raising around £200 in the process. She has also recently donated her long locks of hair to the Little Princess Trust where it is used to produce wigs for children who are undergoing chemotherapy or suffer from alopecia or some other condition that leads to them losing their hair.
Through her 10,000 steps challenge Zoe hopes to raise at least “£100 for Cancer Research and would be very grateful for any donations through her fund-raising page.
