Many people have heard of the bizarre extreme running experience called the ‘Mud Run’. This is where willing participants take part in a race to get round a course getting plastered with as much mud as possible and have fun on the way! Our own Andrew Burgess, fleet sales consultant at Vincent House, is about to embark on his 5th Mud Run of the year, taking part in the Shropshire Mud Run on the 14th November.

This is a 10k cross country run up and down hills, through forests, sheep dips, lakes and obviously lots of mud!!! This is the link to the event

Andrew explained his reasons for taking this form of exercise: “I have taken part in several similar events throughout the year and my target has always been to get around one of these courses in less than an hour. This is the last event of the year, and my last chance to make my training count and achieve my target time.

“My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Breast Cancer earlier this year, and in the last month has started undergoing treatment. It’s not until the treatment starts that you realise what a horrible and life changing disease Cancer is.”

Andrew concludes:  “I would like to make the most of this opportunity to try and raise some cash for the Lingen Davies Trust. They are a massive support to so many people, and without them there would be limited Cancer treatment in Shrewsbury.

“I have set up a Just Giving Page and I would be delighted if anyone would like to support me in some small way:”
