Clare’s Work Hen-Do set raise funds for Severn Hospice.

Clare’s Work Hen-Do set raise funds for Severn Hospice.
People come up with lots of diverse ways in which to raise funds for charities and other causes that are close to their hearts, and Clare Crompton is no exception. Working in the environment of a car dealership might not stimulate ideas of fun and frivolity for many, but that is not the case for the staff at Greenhous Renault in Shrewsbury.

Clare has encouraged all of her colleagues, (most of whom are men!) to help to raise money for the Severn Hospice by participating in ‘Clare’s Work Hen-Do’.  The after sales team of advisors and technicians will be donning colourful Tutu’s (ballet skirts!) of their choice for the day and the sales staff will be in colourful shirts and ties as Clare and her colleagues look for sponsorship to raise funds for their good cause.

Clare is pictured (right) with her mother, Rita (left) and Severn Hospice Fundraising Manger, Lucy Ruff at the showroom on Featherbed Lane. Rita is going to present a cake stall at the showroom on the day filled with cakes made by friends and relatives. Rita and Clare will be travelling around the other Greenhous dealerships to sell them and raise more donations.

The event will take place on Thursday, 9th June and Clare has already raised £100 in sponsorship.  Rita said that the Severn Hospice has been of great support to the family in the time leading up to the loss of Clare’s father, Sam, and in the time since saying: “Severn Hospice staff have been wonderful.  They offer advice on the simplest of enquiries and their help in the time after Sam’s illness was diagnosed was so appropriate and very welcome.  They are always on the end of a phone and come out to our house.”

The family have given donations made at Sam’s funeral to Severn Hospice and their local church.   Rita and Clare were delighted to have the opportunity to hand over the cheques to Lucy. These cheques and donations from the ‘Hen-Do’ will be dedicated to the Severn Hospice Clinical Nurse Specialist Team in memory of a wonderful husband and father.
