The new truck is fitted with a Dhollandia cantilever tail lift capable of lifting 3000Kg on a full steel 2200mm platform. George Willcox have a brand new Toyota LWE electric pallet truck to go with the truck.
Ian Meddings is the Logistics Manager at George Willcox. He says of the new addition: “We are rolling out our new smart livery with this truck. It is a subtle change to our former branding and reflects the bright future the company has. We deliver on a 1, 2 or 3 week rota to our customers from Blyth on the east coast to Blackpool and all across the south of England. We are developing an expansion programme focussing on the north of England and Scotland.
“We have a DAF XF tractor unit on order through Greenhous Commercials for delivery in September. Greenhous offered us a good lead in time for the XF rigid. We had taken on board the requirements of our drivers allowing them to try out demonstrators. The drivers debated which of several brands to go for and the DAF was the unanimous choice.
“Driver comfort is critical, as our drivers can be out for up to three nights a week across the country. The drivers were very impressed with the DAF and we are very conscious that we have a happy workforce. We are well known in the industry as a good employer. This stems from the family values embodied in the firm over the past 30 years.”
