The Greenhous VW Van Centre at Bilston, near Wolverhampton were approached by Phil Morris, on behalf of the Great Barr & Erdington Cycle Club, to see if they could have the loan of vehicle to help as back-up for their cycle teams participation in a charity cycle event from London to Brighton.

Team member Phil said: “Thank you to the Greenhous VW Van Centre for arranging the loan of a 3.5 tonne Volkswagen Crafter to transport the bikes on our London to Brighton bike challenge. It was a terrific experience.

“We had two groups of riders with the first route just under 70 miles long and the riders had to tackle the infamous Box Hill and Ditchling Beacon.

“The second group cycled just over 90 miles and climbed over six and a half thousand feet. They not only climbed Box Hill but also Leith Hill and Ditchling Beacon.”

The riders were encouraged to raise money for charities of their choice which included Alzheimer's Research UK and the John Taylor Hospice.
