Paul Thomas has just started as the new Service Manager at the Greenhous Commercials DAF dealership on Marches Way in Shrewsbury. Paul brings a vast experience in the truck trade with him as he starts his new role.

Paul is a Shropshire lad, now living in Much Wenlock with his wife and two sons. His career started back in the 1980’s with a long and prosperous association with Furrows Ford/Iveco trucks in Halesfield, Telford.  Starting as an apprentice technician, Paul developed his skill set and started to climb the job ladder moving into workshop control.

Leaving the overalls behind, Paul moved to service reception and then aftersales dealing with parts and service for the business across Shropshire and into mid-Wales.  He then entered the world of truck sales for 18 months & finished the last 10 years with Furrows as Service Manager.

After a 25 year career Paul moved to the Halesfield Truck and Van DAF service dealership in Telford as operations manager for 18 months before moving on to Imperial Commercials, again with DAF trucks, this time based in Halesowen and Garretts Green for 9 years.

For the 12 months preceding his move to Greenhous DAF, Paul was at a Mercedes truck franchise in Willenhall as Service Manager.  Now he joins the successful team at Greenhous DAF in Shrewsbury and it is a move that pleases John Turley, Service and Operations Director of the company, who says: “We have performed extraordinarily well at Shrewsbury and won many accolades, so we needed a quality appointment to step into the role of Service Manager.  In Paul we believe we have got the right man for the job and I am sure he will settle in well here and keep us moving forward.”

Meanwhile, away from work, Paul can focus on his family and thoughts of his holiday caravan on the Welsh coast and also a spot of occasional clay pigeon shooting!
