Steve Crick, parts director at Greenhous DAF in Willenhall, recently nominated Kelvin Page, a parts representative, for an outstanding performance award from DAF and Steve was delighted Kelvin was named the regional winner. Kelvin has been presented with £100 from DAF and appeared in their internal literature.
Steve’s nomination was of Kelvin says it all. “Kelvin has had great success in developing sales at J Haywood Transport, a major haulage company that has just one DAF and a large mix of other makes of vehicles. His success has in particular been with TRP trailer parts where the sales have gone from virtually zero to over £45,000. Kelvin has worked with the transport manager to make us ‘easy to deal with’ and is currently adding to this with reports on vehicle/trailer spends. Hopefully we will get this customer on DAF Connect (a Windows-based vehicle maintenance package) in the near future.”
The judges looked at specific criteria in making their judgement about the level of customer service the nominee gave. This included evidence of parts knowledge, delivery of a consistent service, efficient stock management and a professional interaction with the customer. Outstanding Performance Award winners are people who deliver a level of service which sets DAF apart from their competitors in the commercial vehicle parts business.
Steve says that Kelvin has exhibited all the qualities that were asked for and he fully deserved the award for his outstanding performance, service and passion, and commitment to the business.
