After just re-joining Greenhous Fleet as the National Fleet Sales Account Manager, Mark had time to reflect on his career progression from those early days as a trainee saying: “I studied for my NVQ levels 2 and 3 whilst I was a YTS based in Abbey Foregate in Shrewsbury. I did the basic tasks of invoicing and dealing with the post, but I was being immersed in the administrative side of the business, which led me to enter the car hire department dealing with new Vauxhall cars and vans, where I stayed until December 2000.
“An opportunity arose for me to join GRS Remarketing, an arm of Greenhous, based in Chester where I worked as a customer service advisor for 3 years. Then in 2004 I moved into sales seeking new business for GRS looking after the North East region. After a year I was promoted to National Accounts. Over the next 10 years I looked after the Network Q account and 92 Chevrolet dealerships managing their remarketing contracts.
“2014 saw another change in direction as I was given the responsibility by GRS to look after sales for the South West region. This meant dealing with over 150 clients. I then became the Regional Sales Manager with a sales team to look after, before I finally became the overall Sales Manager for GRS in January 2015.
“In late 2016 GRS was sold to the American remarketing giant, Adesa, and as part of the restructuring I became the Client Services Manager. Now I am back at Greenhous as the National Fleet Sales Account Manager based at the Greenhous Village at High Ercall in Shropshire. I am delighted to be back in the Greenhous fold.”
Fleet Sales Director for Greenhous, Ray Coates spoke warmly of welcoming Mark back into the fold saying: “Mark has an exceptional depth of knowledge and experience in the remarketing side of our business. He is well known in the industry and has many years of networking experience to draw upon.
We have appointed Mark to develop new partnerships with corporate end users, informing them of the highly effective operation we have here at the Greenhous Village and within our group fleet operations. Mark will be linking with Top Fleet 100 and FN50 corporate companies explaining the leading fleet processes we employ to the benefit of all of our corporate clients.”
Personally, Mark is a married man and he and his wife have a son and a daughter. A keen Manchester United season ticket holder, Mark also dedicates his spare time to coaching young footballers for the Shrewsbury based SAHA Football Club Under 10 Colts, where his son plays. Mark is the present Chairman of the club. He tries to keep fit and that includes walking his dog!
