Keep Your Business Moving with Van Maintenance at Greenhous

Here at the Greenhous Professional Centre in Telford, we believe in the importance of regular van maintenance. That is why we offer comprehensive van servicing and maintenance across our three van manufacturer brands. Vans of all makes and models can be brought into our dedicated service centre. Whether you need brake and tyre replacements, routine servicing, diagnostics or general repairs, we’re here to help.

We understand your van is at the heart of your business. Whether you’re transporting large or heavy loads, towing trailers, or just generally using your van as a valuable business tool, it is important to take care of your vehicle. Whilst vans are designed to handle heavy-duty tasks daily, they still need regular maintenance to stay performing at their best and keep them running for longer.

We have put together a handy list of things to keep an eye on below to help avoid any additional surprise expenses.

Tyres

The minimum legal tread depth is 1.6mm, but it is strongly advised that your tyre tread should not go below 3mm. When your tread depth goes down, both your stopping distance and the likelihood of aquaplaning increase. You should also regularly check your tyre pressure to avoid the possibility of a tyre blowout.

Doors and Locks

Thieves often target vans and their cargo, so it is best practice to check and maintain your doors and locks so that you can rest assured that they will put up the best fight if challenged.

Brakes

Brakes are a key element of safe driving, so its best practice to check your foot and parking brakes and replace any brake pads or discs accordingly. A heavier van load can mean that brake pads and discs are more prone to wear and tear.

Lights

It is important to check your headlights, dipped lights, fog lights and other vehicle lighting, to ensure that they are fully operational. If any lights aren’t working when you next attend an MOT, your van will fail.

Fluids

Check your brake fluid, engine oil, and coolant are all at the right levels and ensure there aren’t any leaks anywhere.

Battery

Be sure to check all cables are securely in place. Making sure there are no visible signs of damage to your battery connections helps your van battery to keep running smoothly.

Here at Greenhous, we can help you stay on top of maintaining your van, so you don’t get an unexpected surprise at your next MOT.
