Vauxhall UK have recently announced the name of their newest concept car: the Vauxhall STX Concept. This brand-new concept car will have its world premiere at the ‘Mondial de l’Auto’ in conjunction with Vauxhall’s sister brand, Opel.
The STX name stands for Sports Tourer eXperimental, connecting this exciting new concept car with the existing Vauxhall Sports Tourer line-up. The STX Concept car is set to represent the brand’s vision for future estate cars, as well as demonstrating the newest evolution of the bold design language that Vauxhall is known for.
Vauxhall is known for its pioneering role in establishing the Sports Tourer body style in the UK, with the launch of the Victor F Estate in 1958. This launch marked the beginning of the Vauxhall brand’s history of designing and creating factory-built estate cars that are both practical and innovative.
The recent arrival of the New Astra Sports Tourer has continued the tradition for Vauxhall as a creator of vehicles that combine distinctive design with advanced technology and everyday versatility. The New Astra Sports Tourer offers a sophisticated design, with a narrower Vauxhall Vizor, permanently illuminated Griffin and illuminated Compass design signature. Comfortably able to double as both a stylish family car and an eye-catching workhorse offering up to 1,634 litres of load volume, the New Astra Sports Tourer is offered with a choice of fully electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and petrol powertrains.
The CEO of Opel-Vauxhall, Florian Huettl, said, “As the name indicates, the STX Concept will give our vision of the future of an aero-efficient estate – a body style that Opel and Vauxhall played a pioneering role in establishing in Europe. It shows our next-generation design language and feature elements that you will see in future production models.”
The STX Concept car’s world premiere will take place on Monday 12th October, at the Paris Motor Show 2026.
