An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team at Greenhous Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to develop their career within a busy and supportive finance department.
As an Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Working closely with the wider finance team, you'll ensure financial records are maintained accurately, transactions are processed efficiently and deadlines are consistently met.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase and sales ledger transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any account discrepancies.
- Assist with processing invoices, payments and receipts.
- Carry out bank reconciliations and daily cash postings.
- Support month-end and year-end finance processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Respond to supplier and internal finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with credit control and customer account administration where required.
- Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and financial controls.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team.
Ideally, we are looking for:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar accounting role.
- A good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using accounting software or dealership management systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
