We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Detailer to join our busy and successful team at Lumen Automotive.
In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all vehicles are cleaned, prepared, and presented to the highest standard before delivery. If you take pride in your work and have a keen eye for detail, this is a great opportunity to be part of a growing, customer-focused business.
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Preparation
- Perform thorough cleaning and detailing of vehicle exteriors and interiors, including washing, polishing, hoovering, and shampooing.
- Apply wax, sealants, and protective coatings to maintain the vehicle’s finish and protect it from wear.
Inspection and Quality Control
- Inspect vehicles for damage, scratches, or imperfections and report any findings to the sales team.
- Ensure all detailing work meets company quality standards.
Specialist Treatments
- Conduct deep-cleaning services, including leather care, engine bay cleaning, and paint correction.
- Use professional tools and products for scratch removal, ceramic coating, or other advanced treatments as required.
Customer Handover Readiness
- Prepare vehicles for customer delivery, ensuring they are in pristine condition and stocked with relevant accessories and documentation.
Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain detailing tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good working order.
- Monitor and manage stock levels for cleaning products and materials, reordering as necessary.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Adhere to health and safety standards, including the safe handling of cleaning chemicals and tools.
- Keep the work area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
Ideally, we are looking for:
- Previous experience in automotive valeting or detailing.
- Understanding of paint protection, waxing, machine polishing, and interior cleaning methods.
- Experience working in a fast-paced dealership or workshop environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good physical fitness – the role involves standing, bending, and lifting.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and vehicle preparation techniques.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, proactive attitude.
