Engineered for safety and durability, the Blade Battery has undergone and passed a series of extreme tests under the most rigorous conditions—proving itself as one of the world’s safes batteries.

Advanced Safety Features
Lithium iron phosphate, the raw material used in the Blade Battery, offers several key advantages: slow heat generation, minimal heat release, and no oxygen emission—helping to greatly reduce fire risk.
The BYD Blade Battery has a unique flat, rectangular shape which further enhances its' cooling efficiency and preheating performance. Notably, the Blade Battery has successfully passed the rigorous nail penetration test without producing fire or smoke, demonstrating its exceptional safety.

Nail Penetration Test
The Nail Penetration Test is considered to be one of the most rigorous ways to test the thermal runway of batteries. This test simulates an internal short circuit of the battery, generally caused by sharp metal objects penetrating the battery in cases such as a serious traffic accident.
The BYD Blade Battery passed this test without emitting fire or smoke, and the surface temperature only reached 30 to 60°C.

Optimised Strength
Arranged in a tightly packed array, each Blade Battery cell functions as a structural beam, helping to absorb and distribute force. This is reinforced by an aluminium, honeycomb-like structure and high-strength panels on both the top and bottom of the pack, significantly boosts vertical rigidity.
This groundbreaking design is what gives the Blade Battery its optimised structural strength and exceptional safety.
These tests and the BYD Blade Battery's enhanced design mean the Blade Battery has an extended battery life with over 5000 charge and discharge cycles.

Structural Battery System
The BYD SEAL is the pioneer model for CTB technology. Designed by BYD experts, CTB technology seamlessly integrates the Blade Battery into the vehicle's body. This structure can achieve impressive torsional rigidity of 40,500 N·m/°, equivalent to luxury cars.
Wit the addition of CTB technology, the Blade Battery is more than an energy source. It'sa structural component able to withstand excessive force.
